ISLAMABAD (Staff Reporter+DNA) Foreign Secretary Jalil Abbas Jilani, in an impressive ceremony unveiled a plaque marking the completion of ‘A’ Block of the Foreign Office Employees Cooperative Housing Society (FOECHS).Additional Foreign Secretary Syed Ibne Abbas, President of the Society and a large number of members attended the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Foreign Secretary Jilani congratulated the office bearers and members of the Society on the successful completion of Block A and hoped that the project would provide a place for the fraternity of Foreign Office to live together.
The inauguration of the completion of A-Block also marked an important milestone for the project and took it near to completion, he said. The members of the society were pleased to see the rapid development taking place at the site.
Later during a visit of the site, Additional Foreign Secretary Abbas while answering questions of the members of the society also eulogized the work of the management of the project and informed that most of the roads and related infrastructure would be completed by the end of the year.
It is worth mentioning that the project is managed and run by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Most of the ground work on the site has been completed including the provision of electricity. The pace of work is expected to increase in future.
The FOECHS was registered with the Cooperative Societies Department, Islamabad on 11 November 1984.
